Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is best known for her part as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by her four siblings. While she was a small girl, she wanted to be a court-reporter. However, in high school, when she started modeling commercials, she moved to New York. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of TV movies, film and dramatics since then. Her career as a professional has been more successful than her private life. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, as well as two divorces. She was divorced in 2005 and was denied custody of the sole child she was born with.
