Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first posted songs online in the year 2012. Her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. The track Sweat it is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music circulated all over Dreamville. In December 2008, it was announced that Rihanna had hired by Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed together with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016, her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album was released on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole on The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February, the video music for the track was launched. The song has received more than three million YouTube views in just one week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
